FABRICS & LEATHERS

Sofa Craft has several hundred fabrics and leathers to choose from. All of them can be treated with Stainsafe to make them even more resilient against stains (Stainsafe treatment warranties your fabric for 7 years against stains, rips, tears, and burns upto $25,000 in damage). Below is a description of the most common upholstery materials.

COTTON:
Cotton is smooth and crisp looking, and breathes well. It is best suited to slipcovers and areas without heavy use because it is not very easy to clean without Stainsafe treatment.

DURA SUEDE:
Dura suede is in the family of microfibers, which are the most durable of all fabrics. They are ideal for any family room or area with high traffic.

DURA VELVET:
Dura velvet is also in the family of microfibers. It cleans equally well to the dura suede, but is softer and plusher.

LINEN:
Linen is very elegant looking and breathes well, but is better suited to areas that will not get heavy use.

CHENILLE:
There are many different types of chenilles. They vary in thickness, weave, and softness. Most are durable and give a cozy yet elegant look.

DISTRESSED LEATHER:
Distressed leather is dyed instead of painted in order to keep the natural variations of the hides.  Some may view these as imperfections, but they are to be viewed as a desirable trait found only in this high grade of leather.

PAINTED LEATHER:
This leather goes through a correction process where the hide is pressed to eliminate variations in texture and then painted in a uniform color. It is the most common type of leather, and is available in a wide variety of colors.
